Stay the F to Sleep

Stay the F to sleep should really be the sequel for the Go the Fuck to Sleep book.

Here's the deal... A friend of mine and his wife are having trouble with their kid sleeping. This problem is a two parter...

It all started when their kid, let's call him Em Eff was sick and they let him sleep in their bed at night... Partly because he's super cute, partly because he was having trouble sleeping and partly because it was just kind of nice.

Then said kid got better but would wake up in the middle of the night wanting to sleep in his parent's bed... A so we our friends let that little kid sleep with them because it was kind of cute and kind of nice and they got to sleep instead of hear crying.

I should mention that the part two of this is the kid wakes up every time the totally awesome dad goes up to sleep... One day he hacked into my twitter account and tweeted about it.

Obviously not me because there is a typo.



And so that night too the kid slept with our friends...

So then our friends tried cry it out again... The first time was when the kid was quite young and it worked. On a side note my friend read the comments of the linked post and it actually helps know the CIO is not horrible, but it was horrible for my friends last night.

Because once again when my friend walked up stairs Em Eff was up... And cried for an hour until my friend slept on his kid's floor. It wasn't necessarily good but it was better than the kid being in the parent's room. And the kid went right to sleep although kept checking to see if his dad was there (I'm told.)

I think an easy answer is the dad doesn't need to stay downstairs late but the TV in his bedroom will wake the kid, and he has a hard time sleeping early... Plus he's watching White Collar which actually has some nice characters in it.

So yeah... There you are... Another round of the kid not sleeping.

They're boot camping CIO tonight... And it will suck.

Anyone else have a similar situation?

    Yep, we did CIO and all was fine and dandy until molars. Good luck with the bootcamp; we may be in the same boat by the time the 4th molar gets here. CIO bootcamp may be a horrible 3 days, maybe Walgreens will have that $1 candy sale this time.

The Cat in the Hat Knows Pretty Much Nothing About That

I find myself saying it a lot but we don't let Miloh watch a lot of TV... Mostly because it goes a bit against Montessori at home (although we're pretty reform with that) and also because we, read I, watch too much and we don't want Miloh in the habit. On the list of things he does watch is The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That. Netflix is our friend in the mornings so he will get a bit of that or Sesame Street while the person who's on duty that AM tries to actually wake up. And Miloh truly loves the show. He calls it hat and pats his head. He let's us know that there's a fish on screen every time the fish comes on screen, he dances and says "Go, go, go" when they sing that song. Unfortunately since we really only watch on Netflix we've only seen eight episodes... But this gives me time to really think about the show. Giveaway Gear Thursday: Paper Culture ($25 coupon code)

Gear Thursday is back this week with a giveaway from a great company called Paper Culture and I'm giving away $25 coupon codes to two different winners. I found Paper Culture on my search for some really well designed birth announcements. Being a designer I probably should have designed them myself but the chaos of a new baby made that impossible. When I saw their announcements I was psyched...we ordered the one below. We were super happy we went with them over some of the other places we've found.
